ABOUT GERBER
Built to Solve Problems.
Built to Deliver.
Since 1958, Gerber Construction has taken on the kind of work most contractors avoid — and delivered it without relying on layers of subcontractors.
OUR STORY
From Reed City to Across Michigan
Founded in 1958 in Reed City, Michigan, Gerber has grown into a multi-division construction company serving commercial, industrial, and municipal clients across the state. What started as a local builder is now an operation with the people, equipment, and structure to take on complex work and keep it moving.
FOUR DIVISIONS. ONE TEAM.
Each Division Works Independently — But More Importantly, They Work Together.
Commercial & Industrial ConstructionDesign-build, site development, and general contracting. |
Quality ConcretePrecision flatwork, foundations, and industrial floors. |
Underground UtilitiesWater, sewer, storm drainage, and directional boring. |
Nate Green TruckingHeavy hauling, aggregates, and equipment transport. |
|
THE GERBER DIFFERENCE One Company. More Control. Better Outcomes. Most contractors manage projects. Gerber executes them. By self-performing site work, underground utilities, concrete, and hauling, Gerber controls the parts of the job that typically cause delays, cost overruns, and finger-pointing between subcontractors. |
THAT MEANS:
|
When conditions change — as they always do — Gerber doesn't wait on someone else to respond. The team adjusts and keeps the job moving.
|
REAL-WORLD CONSTRUCTION Built for Real-World ConditionsGerber's work is grounded in the realities of construction, not theory. The company has delivered manufacturing plants, food processing facilities, infrastructure projects, and commercial buildings across Michigan — often under tight timelines and in active environments where downtime isn't an option. From large industrial floor pours using 3D laser screed technology to municipal water and sewer infrastructure to heavy hauling and equipment transport, each division is equipped to perform in demanding conditions. |
OUR GROWTH
Growth That Adds Capability — Not Complexity
Gerber's growth hasn't been about expanding into unrelated services. It's been intentional. Each division was added to strengthen control over the work.
|
1
ConcreteTo ensure quality and precision on every pour. |
2
Underground UtilitiesTo handle critical infrastructure in-house. |
3
TruckingTo control material movement and scheduling. |
The result is a company that takes on more complex projects without losing control of execution.
|
OUR VALUES Still the Same FoundationGerber remains a family-owned company, now in its third generation of leadership. The scale of the work has grown. The foundation hasn't. That shows up in how projects are run, how crews operate in the field, and how clients experience working with the company. |
Do what you say you're going to do. Take responsibility for the outcome. Build relationships that last beyond a single project. |
