Reed City, Michigan — where you can build your life.
A PLACE WORTH BUILDING IN
Gerber Construction has been based in Reed City since 1958 — not because we had to be, but because this is a good place to live and work. Affordable housing, rivers and trails out your back door, and a cost of living that lets you actually get ahead. That's not a compromise. That's the point.
Whether you're considering a career with Gerber or a construction project in the region, here's what you should know about the place we call home.

AFFORDABLE LIVING Own a Home on a Working SalaryThe median home price in Osceola County is around $170,000–$180,000 — well under half the Michigan state median and a fraction of what you'd pay in Grand Rapids or Traverse City. Homeownership is realistic here, even early in your career. Michigan's overall cost of living runs 5–9% below the national average. In the Reed City area, it's lower still — with a cost of living index around 80 out of 100, roughly 11% below the Michigan state average. Your paycheck stretches further. Michigan's flat 4.25% income tax is simple and predictable. No surprises. |

A COMMUNITY THAT BUILDS
65 Years. Same Town. Same Values.
Gerber Construction has been part of Reed City since 1958. When you work here, you're building the places your neighbors use — the manufacturing plants, the municipal infrastructure, the commercial buildings. That means something different than a job site you'll never see again.
The company is still family-owned. Still community-rooted. Still run by people who live and work in the same area you will.
Reed City isn't trying to be something it's not. It's a working town with good bones, good people, and a quality of life that sneaks up on you. Most people who move here for a job end up staying for everything else.
